TO OUR VALUED HEAD START COMMUNITY:

Beauregard Parish School Board committee meetings and board meetings were conducted last week.  Updates were presented to the board on Monday, 5.6.24, and Thursday, 5.9.24 regarding Head Start.  After careful data analysis and collaboration with other administrators and stakeholders, it was decided to relinquish the Head Start grant effective 6.30.24. 

Presently enrolled Head Start students will receive priority placement in other Beauregard Parish Pre-K/Early Childhood programs in the 2024-2025 school year.   Consequently, regular education three-years-old seats provided by Head Start will not be available in the upcoming school year at South Beauregard Elementary and KR Hanchey schools as previously planned. 

Beauregard Parish School District is the Lead Agency for the Beauregard Early Childhood Network.  Two other publicly funded early learning centers in the network Mother Goose and Building Blocks of DeRidder, provide seats for three-year-olds.
